GOLDENDOODLES
THERE’S A NEW LITTER OF F1 GOLDENDOODLES HERE! They are all healthy, happy, and looking for new families. Please call us for more information.
Have you ever dreamed of your perfect dog, but just couldn’t find the combination of traits you wanted in any existing breed? Were you looking for an intelligent, happy, healthy, trainable, affectionate and social dog, that just happened to be incredibly adorable? Were you even hoping that it was light to non-shedding, so your allergies didn’t play up? Do all these traits even exist in one dog?
YES!!

Meet the Goldendoodle - a first generation (F1) cross of the Standard Poodle and the Golden Retriever. Not only do these dogs seem to exhibit the best traits of both parents, but they exhibit “hybrid vigor” - the term used to denote the phenomenon where the offspring shows much improved health from the parents. The best of both worlds - that’s the Goldendoodle.
We breed F1, and occasionally F1B, Goldendoodles (the F1B being 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever).
Our “Doods”, in appearance, may look like anything from a shaggy retriever to a curly-relaxed poodle. They may be cream, gold, red, chocolate, or black in color, and, like many poodle crosses, are normally light to non-shedding. They are a medium to large dog, averaging anywhere between 45 to 75 pounds and reaching 20 to 26 inches at the shoulder, depending on the size of the parents.
Great with children, loving to family and friends, social with other pets, and easily trainable, a Dood has a life expectancy of 12 to 15 years - and you will love all of them.

We are proud to be a recommended breeder, and strive always to produce a superior pup. We breed stressing temperment, health, and structure. We only breed our girls once a year, so that they stay in top physical and mental condition and produce healthy puppies. Our dogs are extensively health tested for hip dysplasia, eye, and blood disorders, and are sold with a contract and health guarantee. Our babies are home birthed and family raised, and when they leave our home they are healthy, confident, stable, and ready to add tons of love to YOUR family.
Our ambassador for the breed is :

Shenleigh O’Doodle - Half Golden, Half Poodle!
Shenleigh is our personal F1 goldendoodle from our first breeding. She is was born in October 2004. She weighs 65 pounds and is a true athlete and friend.
She has been on TV on 3 different occasions and has been featured in many newspaper and magazine articles. Shenleigh has been a paid actress in a movie!!!!
One of our “Doods” is Babe - a service dog who’s changed the life of one special girl:

Her name is Babe, and what a babe she is! She is a gorgeous F1 Black Goldendoodle bred by Mark and Annesley Hackathorn in Virginia Beach, VA. Babe was purchased by the McCoy family for their handicapped daughter, Jenny. They wanted Jenny to have a friend and companion who could be with her 24/7. A super-sweet puppy, Babe was selected by Mark Hackathorn, a master dog trainer and owner of Tidewater K9 Academy as well as a Goldendoodle breeder.
Mark selected Babe on the basis of her temperament, intelligence, and size. Mark trained Babe with much help from the McCoys. On-leash training was followed by off-leash training, and finally, Babe was trained to be a service dog. Once Babe’s service dog vest is on and her lead is attached to Jen’s chair, Babe is all business, going to malls and restaurants. Babe has traveled from Virginia to Texas with Jen, and there are plans for a summer trip to Alaska.
Jenny and Babe are inseparable; Babe believes that she’s a 50 pound lap dog. She sleeps in Jenny’s room and has even “learned” to help Jenny get a shower. In spite of her Goldendoodle love for the water, Babe knows that only Jenny gets into the tub. It is heartwarming to see the mutual love that exists between Babe and the McCoys. It is awesome to see Jenny and Babe together.
It is inspiring to watch Babe doing what Goldendoodles were bred to do…..being of service to their owners!!!
