Getting Off To The Right Start

 

Take Advantage Of Our Free Evaluations - We offer a free evaluation with our head trainer Mark Hackathorn here in our Deep Creek facility.  Mark will observe you and your dog, will listen to your problems and concerns, and recommend the best course of training for you and your furry friend.

 

Selecting The Right Dog For Your Family - if you want the pick of the litter, or have found an adult dog but are not sure if it’s the right dog for you and your family, we can test the dog or the entire litter to make sure you get the right dog for you!

 

Private Puppy Class - at the Academy or in your home - get your puppy off to the right start!  This 1 hour class will cover housebreaking, play biting, crate training, preparation for vet visits, nutrition and grooming, chewing, and appropriate play and toys.

 

Our Training Programs

 

Family Companion Dog Training Program - at the Academy or in your home - a comprehensive 12 week course for dogs 14 weeks and older.  Personalized to your needs, this private course offers advanced on-lead and off-lead obedience with 8 to 12 different commands.  Manners, blended commands, and behavioral problems are addressed.  A grooming and nutritional consultation is included as well. Complete On and Off Lead Obedience - the ultimate freedom for your dog! A 50 foot light line is required.

 

Diabetic Alert Dog Training Program -  these dogs save lives.  A service dog training program designed to help Type 1 Diabetics manage their blood glucose levels. Dogs are taught to recognize both Low and High blood glucose levels and to alert their partners when levels are out of a safe range. Advanced on and off lead obedience for public access is included. This program is especially useful for those who are hypoglycemia unaware. Please Email Us for more information on this program. Don't forget to include your phone number!

 

Rescue Dog Training Program - at the Academy or in your home.  This is a 4 week private course for dogs 14 weeks and older who are lacking socialization skills and/or confidence. You and your dog will learn a very clear method of communication which will be used to build trust and confidence.

 

Private Behavior Modification Session - at the Academy or in your home - this 1 hour class is scheduled as needed to polish obedience or solve behavior problems.

 

 

Boarding School

 

Boarding School for On-Lead obedience - We take your dog and board them here at the Academy for 10-14 days, during which time we will train your dog in on-lead obedience.  6 weeks of follow-up weekly sessions with the owner are scheduled at the conclusion of the boarding period, to transfer the training to the owner and for further development.  This program is for dogs 14 weeks and older, and is personalized to your and your needs.

 

Boarding College for Off-Lead Obedience - We take your dog and board them here at the Academy for 18-21 days, during which time we train your dog in on and off-lead obedience and manners.  8 weeks of weekly follow-up sessions are scheduled at the conclusion of the boarding period, to transfer the training to the owner.  This program is for dogs 16 weeks and older, and is, again, personalized to your needs.

 

Group Seminars and Classes

 

Seminar:  How to Choose your Best Friend - this 1.5 hour seminar is for the person considering getting a dog.  Temperment testing, lifestyle, breed characteristics, coat, health issues, and nutrition are covered.  Find the right dog for YOU!   Rescue Organization - contact us about using this seminar as a fundraiser!

 

Seminar:  Puppy Class - this 1.5 hour course is the safest puppy class around - its for owners only!  We cover getting off to the right start:  Housetraining, crate training, play biting, vet visits, feeding, grooming, chewing, proper toys and games - we cover it all.

 

Semi-Private Small Group Program - for dogs at least 16 weeks and older, limited to 4 dogs and their humans here at the Academy.  Follows the Private On-Lead obedience program, teaching commands such as Walk, Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Heel, Verbal release, etc.  You can get the distraction and socialization of a group, with more attention from the trainer than you’d get in a larger group setting.  Learn more, faster and better!
